I got all my Santa molds out tonight... and my most recent purchase is a beautiful TPI Santa. As I was admiring the detail, I noticed something very peculiar... Did anyone ever notice this?
I understand all the wonderful toys in Santa's bag: a cuddly bear, a candy cane, a wrapped present, a red ball and a dolly. I get the symbolism of the small Christmas tree (which he appears to almost be stepping on). However, there by his left leg, there is a little stuffed elephant which must have 'dropped' out of his bag... but Santa has backed into... a lit candle?
This poor santa is unaware that his rear end is about to burst into flames!!!!
Sometimes I just wonder what the artists were thinking with some of the strange details... :giggle:
I think if they had made it a corner of a chimney with some snow on the edge instead of a candle with a flame... that would have made more sense! LOL
