Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

  5. I'm looking for some help with updating my sequence files for 2017. I added a few new elements (8 channels of blue LEDs to my mega tree; two more snowflakes on the house; a second color of lights to a tree) and I am looking for someone to sequence these elements into the display. Unfortunately, time got away from me and the person I originally hired is MIA. All of the sequence files are updated with the new channels - they just need to be filled in. If your interested, please PM me with your rates and we can go from there.
  6. Hi, I purchased some pre-made sequences from holidaysequences.com I have standard LOR SuperStar (not Xlights or something else) program. I am running just 12 CCRs and a 6 channel star. I have the controller set-up working and running an older show (on an older version of software), so I know it has something to so with my updated software. I have asked Holidaysequences.com and just hadn't heard from them yet, but I was hoping someone might be able to suggest a video on youtube or have some simple directions on what to do after i downloaded the file and hopefully all of the way to creating a show. I searched the LOR website and well it is a bit overwhelming and haven't found specifically what I was looking for and I am hoping someone out there might just have what (hopefully) is just the simple info I need. Thanks in advance! Craig
  7. Hi! I am fairly new to LOR and I bought a 12 CCR display a few years back. I have yet to start designing on my own, but I have purchased a few new sequences this year. My problem is that I have got the sequences in Sequence Editor, and when I go to add the media file from my hard drive that I downloaded it to, the whole program locks up at "analyzing media"! I have been able to merge a few songs and sequences, but not all that I have bought. I can hear my songs when I play them independently, but the program won't progress past the first 1/3 of the little progress bar. Is Windows 10 an issue? Any help would be appreciated ! Craig
