Did you know?
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  5. Anyone work with these flood lights?

Ok, I am looking at purchasing 4 of these units to light up the front of my house. Floodoor RGB LED Flood Light,30W US 3 Prong Plug,Remote Control,16 Colors 4 Models Switchable,Memory Function,Outdoor Advertising Housing Decoration Landscape Garden by Floodoor . I want to light up the front of my house with these (it is a wonderful rough stone face) and I am hoping that someone out here has these and can answer the following questions. 1. I want to program them not using light-o-rama, just the internal to do a slow fade from red to green together to light up the front of the house. 2. Will the four work together? Supposedly after you program them each time the power is turned back on they will remember the last setting and go. 3. I want them to work together so the whole house is red then green. NOT alternating or not being synced. If these will not work, can you recommend something outside of purchasing 8 units 4 for each color and put on a remote fader. Don't want to spend a lot of cash to make this happen. I already have spent more than my limit for 2017. This is the final thing for this year. Mike's Creations. Ps last year I used 6 small spots alternating green/red looked nice but want the whole house to light up one color at a time and dim slowly.
  6. PAY FOR HELP!!!!!

WILLING TO PAY FOR HELP I am looking to get into RGB Pixels this year after using LOR last season. My plan is to outline my house, windows, mega tree, and 3-4 arches. I want to use the ribbon lights for the outline. I know the sequencing is going to be very time consuming so learning the startup and basics of Xlights is where I need help so I can focus most of my time on sequencing. I know there is a lot of videos on youtube, which I found a lot are tutorials from older software versions which leaves me a bit lost at times. Digging through the forum can be a bit time consuming as well and info is all over the place. I am willing to pay an experienced person to help me get going on Xlights. I would be willing to pay an hourly rate or a flat rate. Name your price if you are willing to help for some cash.
  7. I am hoping somebody can help me! I bought one of these yesterday, secondhand. It functioned perfectly last night and even this morning. Then it just stopped working! It's stuck on one color and makes a sound like a stuck gear when I try to shift colors or patterns, and will just shut off if I keep clicking the remote to change it. It switched once, but then went back to solid red and didn't change again. I know these things aren't the highest quality but it worked perfectly yesterday! Any guidance?
  8. First Time User

First time user here. I am trying to add LED strips to the trim (gutters) of my house. I was thinking using the LED strip lights for this?? I also wanted to be able to control each individual LED. After reading around online a bit, I like the concept with a DMX controller?? Can someone tell me what equipment I would need to accomplish this? Also maybe where the best place to buy the equipment at. I appreciate any help. Thank you.
  9. Help! I'm at my wits end!

Hello all, I am in the middle of rewiring an old static display we have used for years. It's about a 10 foot train with 900 lights. The old lights went out after years and years of use..so I decided to put in new c6 lights to replace them. After 2 days of removing the old strands and lights I started wiring up the engine first. We had to remove each c6 light on the strand and put in the correct color to match it with the train. It took several hours just to do the back half of the engine. I thought I was careful and made sure each light was put in properly, but after getting the last light in I plugged it in..and maybe 70 of the 210 lights came on. I bought an LED light tester from amazon and had it shipped overnight. Got it today..nothing. My question is..what is the problem? Brand new strands..brand new lights literally just moved out of the order they were in and put back in different spots. It should work..but it doesn't. I've had probably the worst month of my entire 39 years on this earth this month, and this is just the icing on the cake..I want to scream, I want to cry, and I really want to throw this thing across the room! Haha. But now with as many new c6's as I've bought and the original cost of the train itself..I'm in way too deep $$$ wise to give up. Please help!

  12. I Think I Am Addicted And Need An Answer Or Two Help

OK So it is now Dec 26th 2010, And i already drawn up channeled out and put on Large Cardboard my intended Display for 2012 Christmas, Today I did the SAme for what i am planning to do for July 4th 2012 as well as my Halloween Display for 2012. And now i am thinking about other Holidays my question is Does anyone know any good Site's Like Planet Christmas for July 4th and Halloween?? Does anyone know a Good Site to get some decent Sequenc's something to start off with that no one is going to get offended if i use for learning and using for July 4th and Halloween? My drawings i first thought would come to like 64 channels which i am expecting to buy in febuary, well after laying everything out on paper and selecting colors and such my Christmas first look without limiting came too 256 Channel's of LOR without even thinkiing about ti as i drew it i drew then added it all up and i was surprised., but my wife talked me down to reorganize and ill be able to hold off for a while before going to the 256 channel idea's i came up and got it down to just 64 channel's unless here is another question Does anyone know a Controller that is compatible with LOR's Software and LOR and can control more channel's, My Display is going to be Fairy LED's, with RGB Flood Lights (Which i have already but cant seem to figure out how or what i will need to get LOR to control them. ) but i may also be looking into stock piling alot of RGB LED Strips, but not sure if they are LOr friendly or not the few i already have has 12 channel's and they are small but i can link up like 30 of so of these peel and stick RGB LED's and my thoughts are that one of these strips would take 12 LOR channel's but i am proberly wrong. LED Curtains i am having one mail to me supposedly it has RGB and is 4foot by 4foot he tells me ALOT of little Lights but all he has is the light netting no controller but it does have 110 plug and a small box he presses and it does 12 functions but he says he was told it should be able to do like an LED TV he just doesnt know how Do any of you? I know i am proberly thinking the Channel's wrongly or something but ill try and post Pictures and how i think the channel's are going to work a bit later tommorow cantr seem to find ym fcamera atm. maybe someone can help on my idea's

  14. Need Sequences With Arch Segments

I spent a good bit of my summer building my driveway arch and now have no idea how to sequence to make it work. Can anyone send a me an arch sequence that I could incorporate into my set up? I have a simple 8-channel arch and have no idea how to make it work. I have almost no experience with sequences so I would appreciate it if anything sent is idiot proof. (DUH) I know that's a little silly to build something you're not ready for but it seemed like a good idea in July
  15. Led Icicle Buying Advice

Hey Everyone, I'm brand-new to the Forums and am looking for some advice. I just bought a log home with a brown metal roof, and am wanting to buy some LED icicles. I want the warm white color, and am pretty set on the brown cord. I've done some checking online, and this seems to leave me with really only one option. I'm wondering if anyone has any input on the lights in that link, the company, or if they are full or half wave. They're pretty expensive at $32 for 8.7 feet, and I have a lot of house to do so would love some input before buying. Also, shipping up to Alaska is usually expensive so I'd like to order as few shipments as possible. I also found these from the same site, and am not sure if they'd be better or worse (they are significantly cheaper) - they will be going on a second story peak dangling in front of large windows on a roof that overhangs several feet from the house. I read someones post from this site who said they initially bought the wide angle but was switching to the M5 style as they're slightly larger and you don't take full advantage of the wide angle light distribution when it's up in an icicle. I do think I'll try some of the wide angle LEDs to decorate the outside of our log sauna and some of our spruce as it seems like they provide a really nice light. Some other information, although I know from reading the forums this is generally frowned-upon, I plan to leave the icicles up year round. We will use these lights about 6 months of the year, it gets really dark up in Alaska. I plan to have them be part of our Christmas display, but also for general lighting on the house so we can have a little light while we're in the backyard enjoying our sauna this winter. This is part of the reason I really want the brown cords, because our home is log and our roof is brown and want it to look more natural in the off-season. The link said these are commercial grade, so I'm hoping they would stand up to being left out for years. Because we will use these so much, I don't mind spending a little more as long as the company and brand are reputable. I'd love to hear any tips or advice from anyone, I'm pretty much starting from scratch for the new home but icicles are priority 1 because it will not be too long before there is snow on the roof and it will be hard to put icicles up. Thanks so much!
