Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

Winning bidder was in fact a scrapper. He has someone who is looking to buy a bunch from him. He told me he’s looking to sell some and scrap some. Time will tell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Grand Venture New unpainted molds!!

It’s so so. Some collectors want unpainted to do their own. The masses want them painted. I’m not sure his pricing strategy. I know he don’t make the molds himself so he has a company make them and then shipped in to him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Grand Venture New unpainted molds!!

Believe it or not, Cado is not the maker of those GV molds. Christmas Light Creations owns the aluminum molds and has another company making them. He won’t say who as the maker wants it to be private.

Yes that is correct. I’m not exactly sure how many molds of the nutcracker they had. I’m just telling you what the VP of Cado told me at the GF auction. He was interested in GFs, but the way they done the auction screwed over his plans to try and get it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cado did in fact purchase the soldier from GF along with the Mrs. Claus, penguin, some candles and the Nativity and dancing Santa. Right now, the molds that Cado didn’t get are still sitting in Tarboro. But my understanding is a scrapper purchased them however from my understanding he is looking into having them produced. Also Cado confirmed with me that they only got 75% of Unions molds. The rest were scrapped. Including the Union Nutcracker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m curious who leaked that catalog though. Sad to say, there are reasons why things are not shared. :/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As of now a scrapper has all the molds. I can’t say, but someone is in talks with that scrapper. Last I heard a lot of talks about molds being saved and produced. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
