Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

  5. Hi Chuck, I wasn't sure where to put this on the site so I thought I would just shoot you a message.

I noticed under the DIY forums there is no section for Spiral Poles. Any chance we could get one added? I know your are swamped right now with the site transition so I'm not looking for a reply tomorrow or anything! :)

    Thanks, Shane

    Wanted: Multi Incandesent Mini's

If anyone has any of these and your local to Hiram, please let me know. I tried getting them after Christmas but no such luck. I thought that was odd as these are usually the last to go! I'm looking to get my hands on 32 boxes. Thanks, Shane
  7. I went to Rite Aid by me when they where 75% off. I offered them $0.50 a box and I would take everything and they said they could not do that. They did tell me if I came back the following Sunday they would be 90% off which would make the $0.24 a box! I went back on Sunday.....................ALL GONE!!!!!!

    Mega tree sequence patterns???

A LONG time ago I stumbled across a website (or maybe it was on here somewhere) showing you how to do several different patterns when sequencing your mega tree. Anyone know where I can find such information?
  10. So the wife and I are having a debate over how long our show songs should be. She says no more than a 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Her resoning is people get bored listening to the same song for more than this time frame and want as many songs as possible in a short amount of time. I would say more like 2 to 2 1/2 minutes. I hate cutting a song short. Most the time you can tell there is supposed to be more to it and I would perfer to give them more of the song. Your thoughts???
