Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

  1. Hello Everyone, Hope your Halloween Displays where better than ever... Now On to Christmas! I have decided to take my display that gets seen by roughly 150,000 people "high tech" this year. I jumped right in and bought a few things to get this show on the road.... EeeK 30ish days away! And I am so overwhelmed and I have no idea what I'm doing and I can't find anyone to help me, so I am coming to you guys. I thought I was keeping it simple to get my feet wet this year and now I think I am over my head. I was thinking of putting Leaping Arches around the outside of my corner lot this year 16-20 of them in total. I plan to build them with Ray Wu's DC12V 60led/m 20pcs ws2811 ic/meter ribbon in them. This will make each arch 50 pcs and 150LED's. I have also purchased a San Device E682, a Raspberry Pi 3 and few 12v 30A 360WPower supplies, and will be using Vixen 3 for the programming. That's about the limit to what I know. I can't find anything about setting up a display with so many arches most people only have a few not 2 of them. Do I need to put each arch on its own port or can I have two on one port? Should I count every pixel for power injections or every LED? Can one Power Supple power two ejection point so is it one per power supply. Will the San Device need its own Power supply for will it feed the first set of lights as well. I'm so confused? I told Ray Wu what I was planning to do and he said he would make them in the 2.5M lengths with the pigtails so I don't need to cut them myself and he sent me this quote. Do I also need to buy the female side of the pigtail as well or is that what he is attaching to them? How do I attach the lights from the arches to the controller box where do you recommencement I by the lead wire as these Arches are going to run over 100 ft. I just was an easy chase sequence this year to get my feet wet and get the hang of it. Please help I am so Lost and Confused this is the order I am planning to place today from Ray please let me know if you see anything else I need to add to it. I was planning to run extensions from the ports at the end of the arch to the Power supplies that will be about 10 feet away. Should I double the Male/Female connection order to put on at the end of each arch too? Please help... Please!
