Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

    Wind Suggestions

I've had 60 mile an hour winds and my mini trees didn't move,my first year with the mega tree and it held up, my mega was placed in a bucket of cement as it was a last minute addition.I used 2 racheting tie downs and 4 screw in pieces that I use for my camper awningand it stayed up without a problem.[and the bucket of cement wasn't put in the ground]

    Walmart green minis quality

I noticed alot of walmart lights [100 mini counts] Had this Problem plus if you look really good at them you'll notice that they are not painted [or]stained completly.I was really up set that I hadbrand new lights that I tested then put on the tree ,had blown hafe the strand.after testing it out I found that the light didn't fit the light socket that great and caused my #$% break down.I Vowed to only use Target lights I didn't have any problems this year with these.
  8. The shooting flames are really cool and I would be the first to set it up but I think the fire dept, local police, and State fire Marshall would frown on it I would also think you would need a Pyrotech licsence

Is anyone synching lights to this song?

I ran this song for my display this year 32 channels. people ask me about where did I get it.
  10. Chris I would think that 35 or 40 footers you would have to set them in the ground 3 to 4 feet and place them in concrete so they are secure .I would also place guide wires about 1/2 way up for safety.after all you will be adding some wieght to the pole plus as this winter has proved with 60 mile an hour wind in CT anything could happen

How many seasons do you use lights?

Last year I was 16 channel and 15,000 lights and it was my first year, this year I'm 32 channels anda little over 30,000 lights.and while setting up this year I had strands that I tested 2 or three times before I put them in my trees and bushes and I still had lights blow after they were on the tree.I found that I had more Problems with the Depots and Big lots Lights a 2nd year than the Lights from Costco Walgreens and a couple other places.I figure they are so inexpesive anyway just to stock up and fix the ones that don't work in the off season:cool:
