Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

    Long time lurker saying hello

I believe I have gotten an answer to my first question in the mega tree section already but my second will be about a motor to animate my "ginormous" reindeer head. I'm still scouring the motorized sections to see if I can come up with something. Problem is most motors are too small or spin to fast.

Ok I appreciate the help. I'll give that email a try and see what happens. I really hope I can reach them as I have a fairly large order I'd like to place.

    Christmaslightshow.com contact?

So I am wandering if anyone has had any issues lately contacting Christmas light show.com? I have been trying to reach them for about 3 weeks as I want to place an order and I haven't been able to reach them. I have tried all the numbers they have on site and even there help desk style contacts with no luck. I love their products and have multiples of there trees already but need some more parts for this years diplay. Does anyone know what's up? BTW this is only my second post, after my hello, so if the is in the wrong section I apologize in advance.

    Long time lurker saying hello

Longtime lurker, and reader of the forum for questions I've had and needed answers to, finally decided to join officially. Just thought I'd say hello. The main reason I decided to join is I have finally come across a couple of question I can't find the answer too. I'll try to ask them in the correct respective sections but thought I'd say hello and thanks for all the help you didn't know you've been giving...
