Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

I started in 2014, and each year I add a little. I try to incorporate the old with the new. Warm white LED's in the front with a U-Bild Nativity Scene, and a colorful display in the back where anything goes. I hope to make it a little bigger each year.

    Mold Craft Baby Jesus

I know this is a long stretch, but anyone around that is willing to part ways with a Mold Craft Baby Jesus? I’ve got Mary 101-7 and Joseph 100-7. I assume the Jesus that goes with the set is 2A111? Thanks in advance.

1958 Mold Craft Reindeer and Santa in Sleigh set

Yeah it’s definitely a wonderful set and highly desirable. Value = whoever is willing to pay the price. I’d be remiss to say splitting up the set would be heartbreaking since they’ve made it this far together. I bet there were some disgruntled individuals when you took them down off eBay. I was watching, but I knew they would end up far more pricey than I could afford. :)

Lol yeah, that I’ll never understand.

But doesn’t it boggle your mind that there are people out there that spend that kind of money on specific blow molds? I would assume if their area is lacking of opportunity to find them in their surrounding area, last resort would be to spend the big bucks.

    Union Majorette

Yeah, I was really interested in them, but the shipping cost added in kind of took the wind out of my sails for that to work. Hopefully someone finds it affordable and takes care of them, or the price drops.

I honestly have no clue. I assume you would have to piece it together and be patient for parts to come across that you would be able to use to finish it. I will always hope that someone will fill the void and buy the molds GF have, and continue making these lovely pieces of Christmas past and future. If this piece was available and at a reasonable price, it would be better sitting in someone’s possession that truly cares about it and waiting to be complete than end up in a landfill, regardless of missing parts, IMO.

Is that last picture of a motorized Santa in the sleigh? If so, I would assume that would be the one to try and get if you could, as it would be harder to come by than the others.

    Union Majorette

Good Evening Everyone, I was browsing Etsy today, and saw that someone is selling a pair of Union Soldiers (Major/Majorette). I haven't seen a majorette for sale in my short time browsing the web, garage sales, and flea markets, so I thought it was quite interesting. They are still for sale as of now in case you are interested! Regards, Tyler

    Grand Venture Blow Molds

Good Afternoon all, I am not sure if this is already widely known, but Christmas Lights Creations had an article on their website that they were producing some of Grand Venture's old molds, specifically their 23" Pumpkin, Climbing Santa and Snowman with Scarf. Looking at what else they had to offer, I noticed they carry a General Foam Gold Candy Cane, which I didn't know was an option. I think it is an interesting for those still looking to buy new blow molds and can't locate them at their local stores. They are also offering free shipping over $79.00.. beats eBay. I haven't personally ordered anything, so unknown on when you would get them delivered. https://christmaslightscreations.com/new-blow-molds/ https://christmaslightscreations.com/product/general-foam-gold-candy-cane/ Regards, Tyler
