Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

  • About my display
I love to get a hot blanket out of the dryer and go out in the yard with the hubby and two dogs and lay in the yeard and hold each other and watch the soft glow of the lights, sometimes I take off my glasses to blur the effect...times like these are what Christmas is about to me.
  1. I have two lights to the right and left of doorway as you come into my house from the outside. Each year I put a red bow under them. Well I really like the look and now want that look year round... I was thinking of making it out of some type of think metal and painting it red, but I have no idea were to start. All so I thought of making it out of coper, I like the way it turns green with age, or something like that. i would like it to be beefy...something that won"t blow around in the wind and I could mount to the house just think it was to be there with the siding. I think it would bring a touch of class... Thanks to everyone for reading... Kelli
  2. They are absolutely gorgeous birds. This one is only 7-8 months old now and just the biggest baby, very gentle and a real cuddler.

    At my wits end!

Something that you might like to do, could not pull it all this year, too late to get it going but what I would do if I had that space, living in Chattanooga, I would HAVE to have a train going around the outside and make it cut through to the workshop and around again. See ya, Kelli

    believe song

I have never been able to get this CD...Matthew went out once and got me a CD last year and he thought that he was doing something nice for me and got the sound track to the P/Express movie because he thought his was the sound...but I had to cut him down to size and let him know that it was the wrong one and that he should NEVER spend money with out me again...this is still what I like to call the brake in period. if you would like to sell, drop me a line, see ya...Kelli
