Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

    OK, Now What?

How about a wreath on each window. Outlined windows in white. Maybe the handrails. Can't go wrong with anything at all really. Sometimes just a little touch here and there really make a display. Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk

    Controllers

Welcome newbie. I don't have any experience with controllers but on these forums you should be able to get some help. Most on here merely want to share ideas and just help one another. After all that is what this season is all about. Best of luck to you. You probably could also search within the forums on past posts to get more helpful information. 6. Looks great. Did you have to attach any type of wires or anything else besides the 2x4 on the backside? Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk

Looks good. I love the Elf Security Active sign too. Nice added small but big touch Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk
  9. All done and on Thanksgiving. All that wind we got over the weekend has wreaked havoc and quite a few random half strands and bulbs out so trying to get it fixed in this snow and cold. Roof is almost all outlined. One side is 25 high on the short side and ladder was not big enough this year. I feel as though I have way less this year but my bulb count is up. I've got about 1/3 of the lights in back of the house. We also put 10 christmas trees in the house with the tallest at 12 foot. Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk
  10. Finish late/early tonight. This is backside of house Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk

    2018 Hot light item

I personally have a few of these "lazy" lights. I however only have mine on after 10PM when all the other lights go dark. Keeps the house lite but at a huge cost savings. I have about 4 in total now. Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk

    Craigslist find

Always nice when your constant search pays off. Especially Craigslist. That thing can be brutal to watch for stuff sometime. I live in a city of just barely 50k people and there's either junk or people who think their stuff is brand new pricing it. I just scored 4 candles in my big haul and two look just like yours.
