Did you know?
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  • Biography
My wife and I have been decorating in a serious way for 29 years. We have received an award from our city every year for 29 years. We have over 60,000 lights on and around all four sides of our house. To see it from a plane is amazing - too bad it vibrates so much we can't take any pictures. We designed a snowflake decoration, had it manufactured. Then we found out that to sell it you have to be rich, influential and have at least 5 other products to sell. What fun!

for 29 years we have decorated our home. The local trolley brings thousands of people and word of mouth brings more. It was a hard decision to stop but health issues made the decision for us. It’s hard to put a value on something so big that we invested so much into every year

    $2,000.00

  3. Snowflakes in Motion.....

It's true. We finally sold the last of the original 7500 snowflakes. Thanks to all of you for ordering what we feel is a great decoration. We put so much into it - time and money - and found that it's much harder than anyone can imagine. We hoped it would be something the stores would carry so that we could expand the product line and introduce our new Christmas and Halloween ideas, but it didn't pan out. Thanks again and happy decorating this year. Jack & Laura
  4. WTB: Target Clear 100ct Mini's...

Thanks MrsD, Do you have 8 boxes of clear minis (350 count) and how much? Thanks, Jack
  5. WTB: Target Clear 100ct Mini's...

Does anyone have 3.5v minis? I need about 1500. Thanks, Jack
  6. Snowflakes in Motion.....

Jeff, WE LOVED YOUR CHASE!!! Last year when you posted the video and we were watching it - we couldn't believe it. The snowflake chase just (stood out like a beacon to us) fit so great. We must have watched it 20 times. Our goal is to add one of those this year. It won't be like yours, but it should look good. Thanks for buying OUR snowflake!!!! Jack & Laura
  7. Snowflakes in Motion.....

Mike, And we appreciate it more than you know. If this product ever amounted to anything more and I had the money, there were 11 new product ideas prototyped and right behind it. We are so glad that this one found its niche and that we can make people happy with it. The feeling we had when we saw it on the shelves of Osco and Ace Hardware locally was great of course. But, knowing all of you are buying it because of a specific need and for the love of decorating (and more) means more to us. Thanks, Jack & Laura
  8. Snowflakes in Motion.....

Thanks Andy. The only way I can say it is -- FREE. My website is free and I'm not shaking the tree for changes in it - so it is what it is. You're right, the 15.00 is there but it is NOT added in and you can only order ONE case at a time. We call it INCLUDED in the already low price. Jack
  9. Snowflakes in Motion.....

Great photos Matt! I especially like the pumpkin pencil! I hope the decorating wheels are turning now that many of you are using our snowflake. We really appreciate all of you that have purchased our snowflake and hope they fit your needs. Of the original container of 7500, we are now at 450. Thanks to all of you!!!! Every year when I unpack the snowflakes that are used in our decorations, I notice the changes in them. After 6 years, some are yellowing and becoming more prone to breaking under rough handling. That's not bad. I expect at least 10 years out of them. The extremes of IL winters is to blame, I'm sure. Have fun! Jack & Laura Frohn
  10. Snowflakes in Motion.....

Thanks to ALL that have bought our snowflake decoration!!!!!! We worked so hard to design and manufacture a decoration that would be versatile, durable, affordable, easy to use and you could see it without opening the box. Unfortunately, retailers wouldn't buy it. Thanks to Planet Christmas members, we have been able to reduce our inventory and the expense of storing them. WE ARE APPRECIATIVE and hope you all are enjoying them as much as we are with our Christmas displays. 40.000 lights, no LOR or anything, but it still looks good. Happy decorating to all! Jack & Laura
  11. A thread about nothing.

    Nice photos of something.
  12. Any UFO believers on PC

I understand why the little guy is tied to the tree, but I don't like the way the tree is looking at the probe. Also, the probe looks kinda pointy.
  13. A thread about nothing.

This aera is having a 36 degree heat wave today.
