When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.

  13. This years event will be again broadcast over the internet From 9am-5:30PM (EST) To view the Convention please go here. You can also ask the Presenters question relayed to them thru chat. So if you can't make it there in Person, you can still attend and participate via the web.
  14. The 2010 Christmas Carolina Convention takes place at the Charles Mack Citizens center in Mooresville, N.C. which is the heart of Race City, U.S.A. on August 28, 2010. The Charles Mack Citizens center has spacious rooms with a street view of downtown and wifi internet access. Setup will be available from 8:00 to 9:00 am then presentations will begin promptly at 9:00 am. They will run through 5:00 pm with a 1/2 hour to 1 hour lunch break. When the presentations end, tear-down and cleanup will be from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm. To attend, you can register here. A fee of $20 per person will be accessed to cover building rental, lunch and snacks. Marriott Spring Hill Suites has been chosen as the host hotel. If you have other hotels in mind, a list of local ones are available here. Friday Night August 27th will be a Red Social Hosted By John Bullard and Annalissa at the Host Hotel!
