Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

  3. I noticed your old address is still posted on tacky lights web site. I hope we can make the drive out to your new place. Will try and route that way as we go by Joey's and Shane's coming straight down 92. Been a busy year here, I finally got the minimum stuff set up that I wanted, but as of this writing, still only have one song sequenced. Last two nights I sat down at the PC, the first night, in the recliner, with the laptop and earbuds I was looping the song over and over to get a visual in my head and fell asleep listening to it with the laptop still in my lap. Next year, no major changes, sequence a song a month during the year, and if I add channels, I'm buying the controllers already made up :)

Wow I see if you get busy ... things do change. Cool new stuff coming up, new folks coming on line (Welcome) and more places to visit this year. Lists to update. Lights to be hung. I'd Love to get my hands on some rainbow Floods. This year I am out in Douglasville with about 400 channels about 60,000 lights. Not as big as last year (7 houses) just a single house. I was way too busy moving and working. New item this year I call the tower of light. Actually will turn the night into day. I think they might even see it from space *LOL* Today I did get some blinky flashy in the yard. SO I am about on track for light up in 17 days.

    wreaths for almost give away

ok ... I can get 10 to 15 on a pallet .. then shrinked wrapped. about 300 LBS .... A guesstimate would be about $250, Of course when I mentiond Wreaths Christmas and residential ... they said specifically this is only an estimate. If you can get to the trucking terminal for pick up .. you could save some extra cost.

Easy Robert, They "are on sale" .... regular price of these are around $500.00 each. HD sells something a lot less robust for $89.00. Tacky is not "enough lights" ... *SMILE* 2009 I had 1 house, about 200 channels 80,000 lights... last year 7 houses and over 900 channels and 250,000 lights... "Awesome" Yes ... spectacular YUp that too .. never heard anyone say "TACKY" Best display ever .. gonna be pretty hard to top next year .. 250,000 lights is not tacky, it is amazing, astonishing, astounding, breathtaking, cinematic, cinematographic, colorful, dramatic, dramatical, eye-opening, flagrant, gorgeous, flaring, flaunting, mind-boggling, miraculous, sensational, shameless, staggering, startling, stellar, striking, stunning, stupendous, surprising, thrilling, vaudevillian, wonderful, wondrous and bright ..but I never heard tacky once. I suggest you go ahead and get 8 or 10 ... then beg for forgivensss after the fact ... *laughing*

    wreaths for almost give away

Wreaths for sale .. these are 4 foot wreaths that hang on the Light poles around some towns! I have about 80 to sell for $10 each. You have to pick them up in Douglasville, GA (just outside of Atlanta, GA. Most Have C9 or C7 light bulbs but I find about 400 Minis does a lot better. First come first serve. I moved to a smaller house recently and need to UNHOARD my wife says. I suppose 150 wreaths is a little too many. see how I used some of them in the pictures. They come with either c9 or c7 bulbs but as I said I relamped them for my use.
