Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

    Saved from the dump

That is a wonderful find. There is always a story when finding old vintage pieces.

Hasn't seemed like it has mattered to me. I use them in all spots.

What color lighting do you prefer?

If I was to start over again, I probably would not go with pixels because of the extra programming involved. I do think I would go with dumb RGB lights so I could still have every color that I wanted.

    Wire frame deer lights out

Just take them in one deer at a time and work them out with a Light Keeper Pro. Cannibalize a spare set of lights to use for bulbs. It will be a lot less work than replacing all the lights.

    Basic light shows for newbies

It’s a good stepping point. It Will let you know if you want to go further or if you are satisfied with what you have. It’s like taking a taxi before you actually drive the car.

Ideas for decorations on a dog zip line

    Shooting stars.
  10. I remember my mother having a set of these. I seem to remember they had just three bells, they were red. I would hang them over a doorway and yes, the chimes were very quiet.

I find the buzz box is also a very useful tool to have when dealing with lots of incan lights. It is kind of expensive but to me it has been well worth the money. Maybe you can find a used one from someone who has switched to all LED's. Here is a search result for the Light Keeper Pro https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=light+keeper+pro

    Flying sleigh and reindeer

I actually have two sets of sleigh and deer. One is a 60's vintage Poloron set that my wife found in a free pile at a yard sale and the other is a set that came with about 20 other blowmolds that a woman gave me because she was moving and wanted them to have a good home. And they do.
