Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

    too many lights?

If you are running all LEDs I would never worry about the load on a channel. I've been running LOR for 12 years and have had very little issues. Ill assume you habe heatsinks if you bought a ready to go. That means each channel can handle up to 8amps. Overall the controller will handle 30amps, 15 each side as some have said. I've run old C9's, minis, and LEDs. Tend of thousands of lights too. Fried a triac here and there but not with LEDs. Sequences, what are you looking for? Email me at felixfamilylight@bellsouth.net and I'll see what I can do. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Iso help with music box for lights

Hmm that's going to take some thought. It sounds like you are very limited to be honest. With LEDs you shouldn't overload the box. My guts is its rated for 10-15 amps. Can you add to it? I know Donne of those boxes you can buy satellite boxes for them. If not I would plug in 6 strings of lights and play with it. Pick up on how it flashes the lights then make you plan from there. Sorry I couldn't be more help but I'm use to controllers and total control of the lights. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

So you are thinking of going 2 colors so you can toggle from one to the other? I think either will be fine. I use mini lights but it's personal preference I would think. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Help a new guy get setup.

Mr. Matt have you ever seen Richard Holdman's old videos? If not here is one form 2010. I ask this because if memory serves me his tree was 3 colors, 8 channels each, just like qberg was saying. As you can see it looks pretty good. I have 2 mega trees one is 8 channels of clear, 4 green, and 4 red. My other is 15 channels clear and 8 red. Adding LED's so no green last year. You an do whatever you want. I would suggest trying to maximize your channels for more overall movement of your display. I'll also add a clip of mine. Look at the tree to the right in the back. It is 8 channels clear. Hope this helps you.

    roof snowflakes

I don't cover my cords are all. They run down the front to a controller and at night you can't tell they are there. I don't deal with snow much but a pvc frame or small hoola hoop would be good. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
