Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

When Is Everyone Starting To Decorate This Year?

Bill are you going to be able to do your display this year?
  5. I have 3 lor controllers and 2 dlight, the dlight controllers appear in the software as lor controllers you just have to use the dlight hardware utility to test the dlight contollers. The dlight contollers control my singing Christmas tree quartet. The only issue I noticed is that they do shimmer slower than the lor contollers. Other than that I am pleased with my set up.

How Are The Ga Blinking Light People Doing?

We had a great year, one of the local mega churches mentioned our display generating a lot more traffic. We ran 12,000 lights on 80 channels with most of the attention placed on the singing Christmas tree quartet from holiday coro. We only had to shutdown 2 nights do to weather. I already have ideas for next year but I may take a month off just to regain my sanity.

    Help With New Electrical Outlets

the new tr outlets have to have both blades go in at the same time. even still the first few times are hard but they do loosed up after a while. there are som tr outlets that will not realease if not properly grounded but those are monster expensive and probably not used for residential building. I have only seen those used in hospitals and prisons. Hope this helps

    How Is Your Setup Coming?

BEHIND!!!!! I still have props to build, new outlets to install, sequences to clean up, lights to test. What am I doing on the computer!!!!
  10. The local merck chemical plant always displayed a life size nativity every Christmas, I gre up looking forward to seeing it every year. Later when I proposed to my beautiful wife I drove her to it and took her to see it up close. There I asked her to be my wife. Years later when an idiot complained about it being displayed on mercks property, they donated it to my church. My pastor knowing the story of how I proposed asked my wife and I to be the caretakers of the set, and to set it out every year

Some Funny Stuff To Add To The Display?

i use line from Elf, A Christmas Story, and Christmas vacation in my display. It provides a little bit of comedy as well as a feeling of connection to the show. It also gives a great transistion point from one song to another.
