Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

We're from Canada and will be there for the whole week. The days leading up to the Expo we will be sightseeing. We missed last year in Chicago because of health issues, cancer, but feeling good now and cancer free.
  7. Do you still have the C9 sockets, I would be interested.  I live in Curran Ontario Canada postal Code is K0B1C0, let me know how much it would cost.

Ontario - Who's Up And Where Are You?

Hi everyone, I'm in Curran, about 45km east of Ottawa (about half way between Ottawa and Hawkesbury). I did go twice, on my own, in Gatlinburg for Christmas Expo (once by plane and the other by car, makes it easier to bring back stuff) and this year in Biloxi with my wife. My wife really liked it. I have a 20 foot mega tree with 3 colors, 16 3 colors mini trees, one 2 color weber tree, a plywood Santa Claus with lights, some inflatables and a few sets of CCP along the eaves I'm adding 4 arches and a Pixel tree made with CCP's. I'm trying this year a medley of music, the medley is already created, now the gruesome part of programming. Show will be just under 20 minutes. I'm looking for a Santa Claus picture that I could use in Superstar for my pixel like tree, anyone? Thanks!
  9. I bought the G3MP3 Director this summer and didn't have a chance to play around with it. Now in the crunch I was able to copy a song with sequence onto the flash drive that came with the unit using the hardware utility. That worked fine. When I tried to setup a whole show with 8 songs and sequences, when the show starts, only the music plays, no lights. Cat 5 cable is plugged in to the unit. If I take the Cat5 cable and hook it up to my PC the show works fine, music and lights. What am I missing? I'm stumped Thanks for your help!
