Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

Expanding my display

Recommended Posts

My display currently consist of a 16 CCR mega tree with 6 channel star.  I use a old 16 channel light-o-Rama box for the star and a Pixie control for the ribbons.  My sequence editor is v4.3.24 Pro. My sequences are all commercially created for my 16 CCR and star setup. I would like to use the same sequences as last year.  However, I would like to add additional RGB lights and program them to function in conjunction with the 16 CCR Mega tree. Not necessarily imitating what the mega tree is doing but function in time with the music and performing some of the capabilities unique to a smart RGB system.

Here is my question.
What would I need to make this happen?  What programming application would be appropriate and compatible with my exiting LOR system?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Not sure if I entirely understand your question, but it sounds like you want to add more RGB lights,
You can buy rgb lights and controllers from Light o rama or Holiday Coro or more to expand the lights. To program them you can add more controllers to the current sequences you have, and may need to upgrade your LOR software license to do so. Or you can use the Xlights program which is free, but can be complicated if you are not computer savy
