Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

Believe it or not, Cado is not the maker of those GV molds. Christmas Light Creations owns the aluminum molds and has another company making them. He won’t say who as the maker wants it to be private.

It’s so so. Some collectors want unpainted to do their own. The masses want them painted. I’m not sure his pricing strategy. I know he don’t make the molds himself so he has a company make them and then shipped in to him.

They might be nice for some RGB illumination. Mix them in with the rest of the show. At one time I wanted to add a flock of snomingos with pixels inside. Thought it would look interesting having a bunch of multicolor birds in the yard.

That includes shipping if your order is over $99.  I do think a lot of people would want them painted however that particular snowman was available in several paint schemes to match different team colors.  'Molders like having several of the different color schemes so now they can make their own.

That may be why they are unpainted.  It could be that this manufacturer can't do the masking/painting.

Possibility. He did say he was having an issue finding someone to paint them. After seeing everyone go crazy for GF unpainted stuff he figured he could sell them unpainted I guess. Either way I hope he’s able to find someone to paint them

I bought two of snowman and Santa that are unpainted. I also got other items so my shipping was free. I wanted some unpainted so I could paint a man and woman one. The ones I got are having the same issues as Cado white blow mold are we’re the plastic is a little thicker in some spots giving it a spotted cream color instead of white. I did have post office tell me how much it would be to ship a snowman in box. She said around 15dollars for shippping. For me I like painting them myself. Since my wife’s will be pink and purple 😁. I Would love to get unpainted choirboys and girls/ lollipops/ candles.....

i do wish the unpainted blow mold were plastic wrapped and sent in USPS. I got ghost sitting on pumpkin the post office will only do it by weight if it plastic wrap and not in a box. The shipping was$8 if it was in a box $18-25 for shipping.

Yeah it sounds great until you get one smashed to pieces because it wasn't protected by a box!  I still have a smashed TPI pumpkin around here somewhere that I haven't tried to fix yet.
