Did you know?
  • The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on that day.
  • Santa Claus's sleigh is led by eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder (variously spelled Donder and Donner), and Blixem (variously spelled Blixen and Blitzen), with Rudolph being a 20th-century inclusion.
  • Outdoor Christmas lights on homes evolved from decorating the traditional Christmas tree and house with candles during the Christmas season. Lighting the tree with small candles dates back to the 17th century and originated in Germany before spreading to Eastern Europe.
  • That big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard didn’t always look that way. Prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. When Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today.
  • Christmas 2018 countdown has already begun. Will you be ready???
  • Why do we love Christmas? It's all about the traditions. In this chaotic world we can miss the "good old days." Christmas reminds us of that time.

Halloween icicle lights and mini light sets

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know where to buy halloween icicle lights and mini lights for cheap?

I found 8 sets of Halloween Icicle lights at Garden Ridge about 3 years ago at their after Halloween sale, they were GE incandecents but were like $4 a box half price... Of course Garden Ridge doesn't sell GE stuff anymore the last 2 years so idk what they will have this year...

KMart also sells Halloween Icicles they are really short sets and they have the plastic pumpkins on the last light of each icicle... The GE ones were pretty dang long I think maybe 150 lights per set but the icicles are half as short as Christmas ones. Good Luck

Walgreen's carried them last year as well. I waited to almost Halloween to pick up Orange LED's from them at their "clearance prices of 75% off", bought all they had, think it was 12-18 boxes (don't recall off hand) of the M5 type and got them for around $ 1.19/box, (maybe even a lot less, bought so much last year I lost count and prices paid!) Don't recall the count though, thinking somewhere in the 70 count range and these were also nice long strings too!

And I sure hope there will be more Christmas and Halloween blowmolds available this year too, as well as a bigger selection of lights! Instead of the really "slim pickin's" we had in 2009. That was just so depressing seeing the Halloween and Christmas decor cut basically by 50%-70% everywhere in 2009. So I'm hoping 2010 will show a rebound, but I sort of have my doubts.

I agree I think Walgreens would be the best option.

Or you can check Ebay. There are alot of 100 ct. orange mini sets there. But they do seem kinda pricey at around $8 each.

Hey Ryan,

I can't remember off the top of my head, but I remember when creating those yearly master listing's of retailers over at MHD that there was this "ACE HARDWARE/LUMBER OUTLET" STORE that had a surplus of icicle lights at a decent price. If I find the link, I'll be sure to P.M. it your way!

I was browsing around for Halloween Deals online and came across these 50ct LED Orange Icicle Light Sets available at KMart and Sears in the Totally Ghoul line. This is probably the closest you will come to finding them as they really are not in stores anymore. Only $7.99 but keep checking on them, the price will likely go down next week.

I have a few Orange Icicle Lights similar to these. The ones I have are 70ct which I purchased at Target 2 years ago, and they are really nice. The ones I have are sealed, so they do not rust.

What kind of jerk digs up 5 month old threads?

;):D:):P:rolleyes:

Uh oh those are grounds for ban-nation... :P:rolleyes: I was actually thinking about you when I dug this thread up, because I remembered you saying in another thread that you wished you had purchased tons of the Orange Icicles before they stopped selling them in stores. Make your purchases now JEN! :)

Some people do not understand our relationship Jen....

I'm too cheap to pay full price...I might get some if they go to clearance. Takes too darn many to do the house.

I always liked those that target sold because they were orange and purple. I wouldn't dare use those now. I was painting a santa claus BM for Halloween and had a snazzy suit planned for him and here comes the husband and ruined it. asked me why I was making a Clemson santa claus!

I hate both clemson and those chickens...I'm a UT fan born and bred!
