Here (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/home-entertainment/hot-stuff-on-a-bartop-163205.php) is a link to an awesome dance floor style light table! I want one in the shape of a tree!

I'd love to give that treatment to our family-room bar top, which is currently covered in a very 'lovely' early 80's brown ceramic tile...

The beginning title say's that he has way too much free time, I suspect that this man does not have enough free time, because he is busy designing things in his head that will blow most people away andjust because a man (or women) has a vision and would like to share it with the rest of humanity, people suspect he does not have a life. What he did here was just way too cool and I appreciate what he did, It borders on the realm of genius. It is the same as what some of us are doing here with our synchronized lighting displays.
Some would say that I have way to much free time to be doing what I am doing, I would argue that I do not have enough time, I am consciously applying every free moment of my time to this project in order to make this project the best that I can make it. I suspect that this guy did the same. There is nothing better than having a dream, working hard and putting many hours of effort in to it andseeing it to completion and to be able to say "I did that".
This guy (or gal) did good, and would surelike to meet him (or her) one day.

For some reason that reminds of the HGTV Christmas Specials about wild decorating and the guy that has the big tree that is basically a TV. I don't recall the name, but he built it using individually controllable LED modules. I forgot how many THOUSANDS of $$$ he had in this display .. (about 40K as I recall)
All it takes is time and money .. ok .. and vision.. .and inginuity ... and .. and .. and ..

That was Mark Callegari, one of the guys behind Animated Lighting (and also LightWild, which basically sells those displays like that).

Here (http://web.mit.edu/storborg/ddf/) is a link to the inspiration of that project, a dance floor. Both use these (http://www.dropoutdesign.com/products/ddf.html) control modules.
