Smoke Fluid

I have seen several recipes for do it yourself snow fluid, but have never seen anything for smoke fluid. Has anyone ever made their own or is it too complicated/troublesome to make one's own smoke fluid?

I looked into this last month and unless you really need several gallons of the stuff it's cheaper and easier to just buy a couple of quarts of it at Walmart or Target
