Unfortunately, my house wont hold those beautifully decorated 10' tall pine beauties, so I am looking for new ideas for new ideas for tiny trees in each room!!
Here's an idea for one with seashells...

I made one with money once it.I folded the bills and tied with ribbon. It was a big attention getter. Then after Christmas I used it for the sales.

For my bedroom I made a small christmas tree out of wire hangers and decorated it with paper snowflakes.

I have a small one decorated with puppies and a matching one decorated with kittens.
Another idea for a space saver is a wall tree. they are usually small, fairly flat and hang on a wall. I made one for a corner once out of chicken wire and green netting, then hung the balls on it. The corner was a great place for one.

Last year, my 2 boys that share a room decided to use their toys to decorate the tree in their room. We dug into their toy boxes and found small army men, small dinosaurs, went to hobby lobby and bought teeeeny tiny santa hats and glued them on. Put them on the tree, it was really cute.
Oh, and I think they tied a bunch of hot wheels on there too. Definately a BOY tree!

This is kind of going off what Joyful Heart said in regards to tiny toy's. If you have children who get McDonalds Happy Meal's ,you could use all of the toy's that come with the meal's.
I know that when my kid's were little all of their Happy Meal toy's ended up at the bottom of their toy box,due to being sifted through the bigger stuff:o

I use toy tea sets and bakeware to decorate a small tree in my kitchen. Just use ribbons to tie them on to the tree. Check out the toy section and you will find all sorts of kitchen items that will work.
I've also used small bears, small dolls, etc. to do a bear tree, a fairy tree, etc. The possibilities are endless.

We have a little three foot tree sitting on top of a speaker in our bedroom that stays up year round. We got it from Bronner's years ago. It's on a remote controlled power switch the remote control for which stays between our pillows on our bed. In the morning when the alarm goes off we hit the remote and on pops the tree :-) Much nicer way to wake up than those regular bright lights. BTW, they're plugged into a transformer that I rewired, from when we lived in Okinawa, to knock the voltage down to between 90 and 100 volts so it's dimmer than usual. This also makes the lights last much longer.
Not much of a theme involved tho. Just mini everything, including bubblelites. Can't recommend the mini bubblelites tho. They don't work very well. I don't think the mini lights get hot enuf for them to work well and with the voltage turned down they don't really work at all. I'd love to get hold of a bunch of mini ornaments based on the Rankin Bass 'Rudolph' and make that my theme. Love that movie :-)
Take Care!

Check Target and Hobby Lobby, have seen the Rankin Bass mini ornaments there.
I have 12 sets of the mini bubble lights that I purchased when my kids were little. Still use them today and they work great. Also have almost 20 sets of the full size ones that are close to forty years old, also purchased when my kids were little from Sears. Still going strong.

Where did you find your mini bubblelites? I got mine thru Bronners. Had two sets arrive with no liquid in a couple of the tubes and several that have no crystals in them and just don't work. They replaced the dry ones. I never tried to get replacements for the others. I'm a Bubblelite fanatic too. Have many sets. Actually use them in our bathroom for a nitelight. Just screw it into a regular nitelite fixture and around the bottom wrap a piece of that wired pine stuff they give you for wrapping around the bare spots on the tree trunks :-)

All of mine were ordered from the Sears Christmas Catalog while we were in Germany, 1969-1971.( we were in Germany from early 1969-Aug 1972 and from 1974-Dec 1983). Other than replacing a burned out bulb on the large sets, I've done nothing to them and they are still going strong.
I have two different kinds of mini bubble lights. One is a mini bubble light cover over a mini light the other are just miniature versions of the large bubble lights.
I also use bubble lights as night lights for the grandkids. Even found some on QVC a few years back in spring colors. Really look great.
