I've had a problem with the LOR software. While creating shows in the sequence editor, sometimes when I just play the visible screen, everything locks up and the only way to unlock it is to start the shut down of my PC, then I cancel closing the program. Sometimes this works, but sometimes the same thing happens again right away. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is it a glich? Solutions anybody?

What version of LOR are you running? What is your operating system?

Additional questions: Is the animation window open? Do you have other programs running? LOR is very light on resources but animation does take a little horsepower.

No other programs have been opened. It's happened with the animation window both opened and closed. It reall hurt last night. I had spent all day constructing a mega tree in my back yard so that I could practice different sequences. Everything worked great, but I was trying to practice moving the tree with the music and the glich showed up. it's done it before. It has never frozen when I let the full sequence play, but it's impossible to program like that.

Have you formatted the MP3 for 128kps? This will cause problems with timing and sequencing.

Just curious how your problem is coming along. If you have no resolution, you might try submersing your computer in mineral spirits (lacquer thinner works best) for 20 minutes. Then immediately set it out to dry over an open flame until done. I've suggested this to another here on PC, but have received no reply as to the results yet...

Really? Cleaning your computer in lacquer thinner will solve software issues? Cool.

And by the way, lacquer thinner is flammable. Not sure you would want to dry it with an open flame.

What were you told about resurrecting old threads without having anything significant to add????

The temptation was too great - just could not pass this up.

May this thread now rest in peace.

Sorry did miss something? The latest version of LOR software is 2.1.6, as of today. I have had no problems with this version running on XP or Vista.

Sort of. Some time ago, a different thread which was over a year old was "resurrected" by a question which started some discussion, not necessarily related to the topic of the thread. I did the same to this thread (probably in bad taste) and cited a resolution which has been an outstanding joke between a number of people. Sorry about misleading you (or anybody else who might become confused).

You are correct, 2.1.6 is the current version of LOR and the problem reported by the OP was resolved some time ago. Everyone I have met arond here has been great - in fact, it has become quite an obsession hanging around in this forum. Trust me when I say, it can be very educational here (there are many old dogs who can teach us new tricks) and at the same time be entertaining - all with a great group of people.

Your problem is Vista. Trash it and go back to XP professional.

I did, and everything runs good again.
