For Trees and certain items in my Holiday Time village there is an adapter to plug them in, but alas, for the fiberoptic house/store pieces like the retro diner and the movie theather they require three double A bateries in the bottom also have to be turned on with a switch on the bottom.
Has anyone come up with a solution, or do they make an adapter that would replace the three double A batteries so it can be plugged directly into the wall?
Thanks,
Joel

I don't know if there is an adaptor but it would certainly be nice. I think I buy the AA Batteries by the boxful and then they are wasted. By the next year they are pretty close to being dead so I still have to get new ones. I did not get an adaptor for my trees (our local Wal-Mart did not carry any) but it is high on my list for next year. Now if I could just get that little train to run on gas or something. :P

Hi,
I didnt' find the adapters for my trees at Walmart actually, I ended up getting them at an ACE hardware store, they are from the Heartland Valley Village they sell. They work well with the Holiday Time items.
Thanks,
Joel

Any battery-operated product can be rigged with an adapter. If there isn't an actual jack for you, you need 1.5 volts per battery (4.5V in your case -- a 5V adapter is probably fine). Buy one and cut off the end. If possible, find out which wire is positive with a multimeter.
In the battery case you'll see that the batteries are attached in sequence, with a bridge between each pair of batteries. You need to find the two terminals that don't bridge to another battery. Hook the positive wire to the one which is supposed to have the "bump" terminal of the battery on it, and the negative to the other. If you don't know which is which, most products won't be damaged by quickly trying both ways.

Agree with tim, I have modded items with no physical jack.
