what does everybody use for a column grid layout ? .1 of a second ? .5 second ? 1 second ? others ? does the grid spacing affect an effect based on the grid layout ? i guess it probably would

Depends on the effects you want.
I use .1 seconds and cut and past a lot!

Thyno,
I start with .1 spacing, then tap the 1/8th notes and adjust everything to end up with 4 evenly spaced columns per beat. Depending on the tempo of the song, they typically range from .09 to .13.

this year, for the 2 songs i used, i didnt tap out a beat. i set the grid spacing to .10 and just started filling in the effects. i never really thought about changing the grid width to make an effect work better. i always just figured that whatever i set the grid intervals to, i was stuck with. learn something new everyday. you guys are using lor, right ? im usin a.l., but, im assuming that it all works the same way since i can alter grid width too. i just never knew why i would want to.

Yes, I am using LOR, but the grid works basically the same.

i thought they did. so, since this is a general category, i'll ask here instead of over at a.l.
why would grid spacing on the grid have an effect on the chosen light effect ? if you split a segment of the grid, i would think it would also have an effect on all of the other things going on in the sequence.
