I can't imagine anyone would do it for free, would they -- particularly to someone with as deep of pockets as Miller?

Videoing lights with consumer cameras is tricky -- makes the lights look white like you noticed. I actually spent some time with my owners manual this year, got the exposure and white balance set properly, and the colors came out MUCH better than in previous years. Still not nearly as colorful as real life, but you'd probably need a professional camera (like a the beer people used) to get vivid colors.

Yeah I have a sony VX-2000 camera that i purchased back in 2001...i do some video work on the side and it works very well in low light and for shooting christmas lights...An example, though poor due to web quality, can be seen here (http://www.nightmareon901.com/video/Reflections.wmv). If youre looking for a camera, definitely go with one that has 3 CCDs...the larger the better, mine are 1/4" CCDs. good luck

Thyno you're right. It's a 3ccd camera but a professional one. Miller hired an agency to do the spot. More than likely the camera they had ranged between 50,000 and 100,000 dollars. Also, it probably was shot in high def. and converted down to standard def. so everyone could see it. My 2 cents worth of being in the news media for 10 years.

Or Tim, you need the help of someone who has the gear to edit videoand add color back into taped submissions, like someone did last year for a couple of displays on Holiday Lights ;) (not yours by the way..)
